3.5L V6 Atkinson Cycle Engine. With the Toyota Tacoma's available 3.5L V6 engine, you'll have 278 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque at your command. This much power will let you do close to anything.
Towing and Payload Capacities. What does close to anything look like on paper? Well, when equipped with the aforementioned engine and an available Tow Package, the Toyota Tacoma can handle towing up to 6,800 pounds and carrying a payload of up to 1,440 pounds. Imagine the almost limitless possibilities.
Trailer-Sway Control. However, towing that much weight can be a challenge, to say the least. That's why the available Tow Package comes with Trailer-Sway Control (TSC), making towing much safer and easier.
Performance and towing are categories where the Ford F-150 matches up well with the Toyota Tacoma. For example, the F-150 offers you the choice between several different optional V6 engines: its 2.7L V6 engine, its 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine, and a 3.3L Ti VCT V6 engine, among others. Insane Off-Road Capabilities
With the Toyota Tacoma, not only does it provide immense power, but it helps you navigate off-road trails, too. It has a bunch of different available features that'll get you off the road:

- Crawl Control (CRAWL)
- Electronically locking rear differential
The Ford F-150 has some comparable features, including an optional electronic-locking rear differential and heavy-duty gas-pressurized shocks, but its FX4 Off-Road Package is only available for 4X4 versions.
Helpful Utility Features
Last, but certainly not least, the Toyota Tacoma throws in a few extras that'll help you out once you're on the road and heading out on your next adventure! For example, its composite bed can come with an available bed-mounted 120V/400W outlet that's perfect for either camping or working, while its standard innovative deck rail system has four heavy-duty adjustable tie-down cleats for all of your gear. 
The Ford F-150 has four cargo box tie-down hooks, but its base trim doesn't feature a bed-mounted outlet.
